Protectors of the Great Forest
A great and terrifying monster has begun to tear a path of devastation through the Great Forest all civilization calls home. The fairies have been sent into a panicked tizzy - well, those that have noticed what’s going on, anyway - and have sent word to every kingdom, empire, and backwater village for aid in any way, shape, or form. The great Bear himself sharpens his axe in preparation for a mighty clash with this deadly foe from legend: an ‘Urkk’.
While war seems to hang over the entirety of the Great Forest between the many feuding races that call it home, some will have to cease their squabbling for the greater good of the forest. Savage Goblins, greedy Myconids, proud Ducks, mysterious Fairies, wandering Lizards, conquering Ants and cold-blooded Frogs must come together and weaken - if not utterly destroy - this threat before some ill fate befalls the Bear, their woods, or both. For certainly, should either fall, chaos and violence will reign throughout the Great Forest, and all civilization will fade.
You have chosen wisely, either forgiving the travesties of other species or at least setting them aside briefly to deal with a far greater threat. The wisdom of the Bear and the shelter of the Great Forest all but form the basis of every civilization, from the tribal gatherings of the Goblins to the contracted work Frogs live on. As weak as Ants might be and as selfish as the Myconids undoubtedly are, each races brings a valuable asset to your journey…
Assuming, of course, you can trust them to not stab you in the back the first chance they get. You know what they say about frogs…

Well, I figured I should try doing an RP sometime, so why not during the arguably busiest time of the year (thanks, Rise) and in such an old setting (thanks, Dood) that I don’t even own?
...Ahem.
Sooo yeah, this is indeedy heavily based on Dood’s own work, right down to all the fluff of the different Dood-created races I’ll be posting further down the way in the character sheet template. Praise be to the Sewer Duke, may his reign never end, etc. etc...
I aim for this to be a fairly light-hearted (and, hopefully, short) adventure, with a rag-tag group of anthropomorphic woodland animals (and fairies) journeying to gather ancient and powerful artifacts to weaken - if not outright defeat - the rampaging Urkk threatening to devastate all you know and hold dear (and dislike or outright hate, too, but that’s besides the point). So while you’ve undoubtedly got some grudge with most - if not all - of your fellow heroes, you should really keep that off to one side. Y’know, greater good and all that.

Aaaand here’s the important bit: the character sheet!
Name: Definitely the least important part. I don’t even know why I put it here. (Seriously speaking, there aren’t really restrictions on names. Just keep in mind this is a medieval/fantasy setting. If you’re low on ideas, I recommend this site for inspiration at the very least).
Gender: Sort of self-explanatory.
Race: This part is extremely important, and affects… well, everything. Check the spoiler for the available races (without asking for permission. You could be something different as long as it fits. Just ask me).
As written earlier, descriptions shamelessly stolen from Dood… with the addition of my own racial strengths and weaknesses for arr-pee purposes.
Goblins: The Goblins were once a great empire, who followed the lead of the great and wise Goblin King. But with his death, the Goblins collapsed into their old stubborn ways, quickly forgetting their knowledge and becoming dumb savages.
Racial Weakness: Uncivilized (Goblins are renowned for having poor manners, poor hygienics, and even worse language)
Racial Strength: Survivalist (Goblins are, however, very good at tracking other creatures, identifying wildlife and plants, and finding food in unlikely places… even if only a goblin could eat it)
Myconids: The Myconids are greedy creatures of few words, but are excellent craftsmen. They have legends that below the earth lies a treasure of untold value, which they continuously strive to reach with their endless digging. They will even dig in completely random places occasionally, with vain hopes of finding their sought after treasure.
Racial Weakness: Greedy (Myconids will rarely if ever relinquish treasure, and can’t bear the thought of being left out of a shiny reward)
Racial Strength: Metalworker (Myconids happen to be extremely good working with metals, forging the best armor and weapons as well as being quite capable repairing and enhancing such gear with the right tools, time, and materials)
Ducks: The ducks are guardians of the Crystal Pond, who choose their leader based on the one who possesses the Silver Feather, the magical sword their legendary Swan king had once used to vanquish the Ants.
Racial Weakness: Honor (Should a Duck ever be insulted, they must retaliate in some way, or risk dishonoring their family name)
Racial Strength: Chivalry (A Duck excels at any action that complies with his personal moral code. Saving the weak and/or innocent is a common one)
Fairies: The fairies are responsible for keeping the Great Forest alive. They dwell high above the other races in the treetops, unreachable by most, and a mystery to the rest. Fairies are incredibly unpredictable, being playful and carefree one moment, only to become very strict and violent the next.
Racial Weakness: Mischievous (Fairies simply can’t remain serious or focused for long, and having an undying need to cause mischievous whenever possible. While some can resist this for a while… it’s really inevitable that they’ll do something to mess with someone else)
Racial Strength: Flight (If there’s one thing Fairies can do no one else can achieve, it’s fly. It assists them greatly in many tasks, not the least of which being staying well out of reach of the other races)
Lizards: The Lizards are nomadic warriors, who follow the ancient Great Tortoise wherever he goes. According to their legends, the Tortoise is so old he has beheld the creation of the universe.
Racial Weakness: Skittish (Lizards aren’t used to holding their ground… at least, not without help from the Great Tortoise. Thus, it’s only natural that when things start to look bad, you start looking for a way out)
Racial Strength: Mobile (While the Great Tortoise isn’t necessarily fast, your kind have little to do all day except move. Thus, you’ve become the best at it - from simply running to parkour to dancing, Lizards are among the most agile of creatures in the Great Forest)
Ants: What they lack in size and strength, the Ants make up for with sheer numbers, their massive legions spreading destruction wherever they go.
Racial Weakness: Tiny (Ants are the smallest of creatures in the Great Forest, and alone really don’t pose a threat to much. Frogs that aren’t being paid by their legions tend to find them akin to snacks)
Racial Strength: Cooperation (Ants grow more powerful in numbers… and more open-minded members of their species can work together with other races quite effectively. Should both of you be willing, an Ant can work with anyone else to give both characters a bonus in whatever action they take)
Frogs: Elite, top-skilled survivalists, the frogs are highly dangerous mercenaries that have been hired by the Ants. They prepare the field ahead of their foes, and if you manage to fumble your way through their traps, they'll have already formulated 18 different ways to kill you.
Racial Weakness: Cocky (You are the best at what you do. Combat, trapping, survival… no other species can beat a Frog. It’s only natural you should tell exceedingly long tales of your exploits, demand a greater share of a reward for yourself, and demand a reward at all if none is offered)
Racial Strength: Clever (Be it traps, tactics, or simply realizing the way to see if a plant is poisonous is to feed it to someone else, Frogs are clever: and that’s what makes your kind so dangerous. If you put a little thought into an action, you’ll probably figure out the best way to conduct it… and seventeen other options that seem almost as good.)
Strengths: While there will be no dice rolls, I do want to have a clear idea of who is good at what and bad at other things. Your strengths include your racial strength as well as two (2) others of your own devising (mind, these can be either physical skills or character traits [i.e. Brave could be one of your strengths, or Loyal]). Each of these should include a small description (i.e. Warrior: [character] excels in the heat of battle, and is especially skilled wielding melee weapons)
Weaknesses: Ditto, except this is where you put what you’re bad at - including your racial weakness. And don’t forget to have two (2) additional weaknesses (or more if you want to go really hardcore. In these cases I may give you permission to take more strengths, but do not count on it).
Appearance: Pictures are great, but I’m all too aware how difficult it might be to find serious/cool-looking pictures, soooo rough wordy descriptions are good, too.
Inventory: I’m gonna be lenient, here. I’ll let you know if you’ve got too much stuff.
Biography: I don’t wanna read lots of words so if you wanna be lean, go ahead. Just, y’know, put something here. And/or a ‘tl;dr’ summary if you’re going to write a short story. Please.
Miscellaneous: Anything that doesn’t fit in the other sections goes here, from character themes to minor details to pets. Or personality, if you want to slip a section like that in (I won’t require it separately since that’s partly what the Strengths/Weaknesses are for, and I figure it’ll show a little elsewhere. If you want a section to really go on about it in length, though, be my guest!)

Example Character:
Name: Tasi Oaksage
Gender: Female
Race: Fairy
Strengths:
-Flight
-Focused (Tasi has a long attention span for a fairy, allowing her to do long-term tasks [such as watching the borders of the forest and keeping up-to-date with the affairs of lesser creatures] better than most. Of her kind, anyway)
-Well-educated (Relatively speaking, anyway. Tasi knows about… well, pretty much everything. At least, everything in the Great Forest)
Weaknesses:
-Mischievous
-Short-tempered (It doesn’t take much to send Tasi into a tizzy)
-Loud-mouth (Once Tasi starts ranting about something, it’s difficult to get her to stop. And she rants a lot. It’s great for exposition… and for putting people to sleep with boredom)
Appearance: Short, even for one of her kind, and sort of… medium in every other regard. There’s not anything particular that sticks out, beyond her brunette hair just sort of hanging about in her head’s general vicinity. Besides all that, Tasi wears a cyan dress that looks a size or two too big for her, which somehow doesn’t affect her dragon-fly wings when she flies.
Inventory:
2x Bookes of Lore
1x partially-finished Booke of Lore
1x Oak club
1x Satchel, stuffed with rations and herbs
1x Satchel, loaded with healing herbs and waterskins
Biography:
Tasi Oaksage has spent a surprisingly small portion of her life up in the trees, instead preferring to catalogue and categorize the foliage and fauna of the Great Forest. She’s at least somewhat familiar with all the other species and their various… quirks, though she’s done far more work on more rare creatures and plants; including a study on the great Bear (who, needless to say, found her efforts amusing but kept his own answers suitably vague). Whatever time she’s spent in the realms of fairies has typically been spent around older folks, learning about legends and even some things beyond the edge of the Great Forest… not that Tasi has ever risked going out there.
Partly because there’s still so much more work to do within the Forest… and now there’s this Urkk to deal with. Thus, Tasi has led the effort to take the monster down, hoping to examine it as well as preserve the natural world she’s so dedicated to studying.
