Metro City Brawlers
Widely renowned as one of America's fastest growing metropolises, Metro City was the top. The latest in fashion, technology, and industrial practices all seemed to originate from the 'Big City' for a solid decade. However, recently things have taken an abrupt turn for the worst. An unprecedented wave of super-mutant and super-tech appearances has coincided with a skyrocket in crime rates. Often violent crime rates.
As a result, Metro City is losing its momentum and PR. Its citizens live in fear as super-powered individuals have begun brawling in the streets. Smaller gangs have taken advantage of the chaos to wreak their own havoc, ordinary citizens regularly debate looting before escaping the city... it's generally a bad situation.
So that’s where you come in.
The Metawave - a rash of coincidental ‘meta’-human appearances in and around Metro City - has garnered a bad reputation, but you’re a part of it. A good part of it. Whether you fully take the role of super hero with tight-fitting costume and all, or instead just follow the spirit of it and keep a more conventional outfit and set of gear, you’re distinctly not a villain, nor a plain old bystander.
You’re a hero in the works, and there’s a whole city that needs saving.

Yeah, I finally decided to make a sign-up topic for this to keep things in order, since I intend for this round to actually last and to get a fair-sized group. So naturally I need a way to keep track of who I’m gonna tag every week.
That said, if you’re not one of few already slated to get in on the action, Metro City Brawlers is… well, a super hero RP, if you couldn’t tell. Specifically a TTRPG (table-top roleplaying game, like Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder) that will be run on roll20.net using the Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition rules. If you’re not familiar with either the website or rule set, don’t worry! We’ve got a lot of experienced people who are down to give you a hand figuring things out. All you need to be is willing to give it a shot. And having a character concept or two doesn’t hurt, either.
That said, if you’re interested at all, fill out this little thing here and we’ll see how scheduling will end up working:
Discord Username: Not your nickname on the Sewer, but your username. I need to be able to tag you consistently.
Timezone: I know most peoples’ timezones around here, but reminders don’t work. If you want to be even more efficient, include the difference between your time and mine (the Pacific time zone).
Rough Schedule: What days/times (in your timezone) do you regularly have free? I would like to set a definite schedule for these games, but I’m not stranger to just meeting whenever is convenient for everyone. Hell, depending on how many show interest and how far schedules differ, I may attempt to run two mini-parties within the same campaign.
Character Concept: Mutants and Masterminds boasts a huge variety of highly-customizable super powers further enforced by a strong system that supports characters without powers at all. Feel free to put at least one vague concept here, but if you have more it doesn’t hurt to list them off.
...and that’s about it! Depending on interest and scheduling, I hope to kick this off by Sunday, December 23rd (yes, just a couple days before Christmas) but that date may roll forward or back as circumstances permit.
If you would prefer to look at the rules before making up your mind, a quick google search is all that is necessary to find the PDF. If you're as lazy as I am, though, and don't want to bother with that much, hit me up and I'll find a link for you. :P
